KES Shines in the Bebras Challenge

The Bebras Challenge is an annual competition designed to develop computational thinking and problem-solving skills which has become a highlight of the academic calendar in schools across the UK.

This engaging initiative encourages pupils to tackle logic-based tasks that promote creativity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of problem-solving strategies—essential skills for the digital age.

King Ecgbert School has achieved exceptional success in this year’s Bebras Challenge, with over 50 pupils placing in the top 10% nationally.

This impressive achievement includes: 17 Year 7 pupils, 12 Year 8 pupils, and 19 Year 9 pupils who ranked among the top-performing participants in the UK.

Their success showcases their dedication and talent, as well as the school’s strong commitment to fostering excellence in STEM education.

A special mention goes to Isla H, Rosa M, Alice J, Kenzy A and Isaac T who achieved an incredible score of 220, earning full marks and the prestigious GOLD award in the challenge.

This accomplishment highlights the pupils’ remarkable ability to approach complex challenges with confidence and creativity, paving the way for future success both academically and beyond.
